I've been a sports columnist since 1994. First, in The Freeman newspaper under "Tennis Is My Game." Then, starting in 2003, with Sun.Star Cebu under the name "Match Point." Happy reading!
John, it appears it’s the other way around “major part of the track is at it’s worst condition.”
It could lead to serious injuries to Athletes who are training in the track. When I was there in May, it felt like I was doing trail running instead of track running.
Thank you for the articles and photos on running, they inspired me to wear my running shoes and run again.
Nature follows its path. The track needs to be applied with “botox”, that is, financial one. I am sure that Sir Ricky B. , Mayor T and many tycoons in Cebu care. Maybe the running clubs can organize a run for a cause: “the Cebu Track Cause”…for the repair of the oval.

I hope Mr. Ricky will do something about it.

Dear Mr. Pages,
If there is a signature campaign, I hope it’s not too late to sign up and support the cause of replacing the tartan of the oval.
We can also cross post it with Sugbu Triathlon community.
We’d be glad to hear from you.
Thanks,
Alvin and Olive
